Are you struggling with your emotional health, or do you need someone to talk to? Your Friends are here to help with no judgment! We help our community members in the Mid-South deal with many disorders, including mental health and substance abuse issues, and those struggling with poor nutrition and physical disabilities. We also coordinate programs to combat the stigma that often leads to homelessness, job loss, and dismissal by chosen faith communities.

  • Friends focuses all our services on achieving the following four goals:

    1. Helping people living with HIV/AIDS to become and remain medically adherent

    2. Reducing and preventing homelessness for PLWHA

    3. Reducing HIV/AIDS infections by promoting the widest variety of prevention tools

    4. Offering education about HIV and reducing HIV stigma in the Mid-South

  • Friends For All offers a variety of group classes during general hours Monday- Thursday 8:30am- 5pm and Fridays 8:30am- 4pm. Classes are offered in person, but virtual and phone appointments are available to our Friends living in the Mid-South. Our treatment plans are developed by the Behavioral Health Clinician in collaboration with the client. Most clients can expect positive outcomes, including improvements in managing conflicts, coping with life stressors, and overall emotional wellness.

Are you interested in Friends’ Behavioral Health Program and how we can help you live well? Here’s what you should expect when starting the process:

  • Clients begin services by completing intake documents.

  • The assigned Behavioral Health Clinician will then contact the client to set up their initial therapy appointment.

  • If transportation is needed, clients can request it with their assigned clinician.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • No. We can provide mental/behavioral health services to individuals who are HIV-negative as well.

  • No. Many of us deal with life stressors that can benefit from additional support, and we are here to help.

  • No. Behavioral Health services are optional but highly encouraged.

  • Yes. We have a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and our bilingual (Spanish) provider is a National Certified Counselor.

  • As often as you and your assigned therapist determine as needed to meet your stated therapy goal.

  • No. We currently have grants that assist us in providing mental/behavioral health services at no or low cost to our clients.

  • At Friends, our goal is to treat the whole person, which is why we take an integrated approach to care that includes collaboration across programs to help clients manage their overall health. In general, Friends can usually get clients in for appointments quicker than many providers in the immediate area. Additionally, we currently utilize grants to provide services at no out-of-pocket cost to clients.

  • No. However, Friends does have a provider we work closely with to manage medication.
